Vegas Baby ~

When Nathan and Kayleigh came back from their trip back east, Nathan's brother Wes and his son (our nephew) Logan flew back with them for a visit (not long enough). It was mainly a lot of rest and relaxation for Wes, and Logan got to play a lot of games. Kayleigh loved having Logan around to play with. They got to see some family but not enough and he did have one request to see Vegas. So we took an overnighter, it was a quick trip due to the kiddos getting VERY, VERY SICK. Kayleigh and Cael came down with a viral infection that spiked to very scary HIGH fevers.

So, it's a good thing we got a nice roomy suite because one of us stayed with the kids while the others played. We did venture down to the pool, but the kids were not feeling up to it. Such a bummer.. but they enjoyed romping around in the room and our views of the pool. So, Nathan and Wes ventured out into the gambling world and the kids crashed and I watched a movie. Nathan and I are not gamblers, nor drinkers..SO, Nathan was being conservative with his gambling...and since he is in the Gambling line of work... he knew what to hit and not hit, he tried to teach lil brother the in's and out's of betting, do it smart..but those FIRST TIMERS just get so greedy!... OH WESLY!!! So, needless to say.. they came back earlier than expected to the room. Then Nathan stayed with the sleeping beauties and Wes and I walked the strip and took lots of pictures, laughed at a lot of strange people... and of course we had to partake in a couple of refreshments along the way.

The next day we had a nice breakfast, went to the Coca~Cola store...fun but WAY different than what I experienced a few years ago (okay 10 years ago)...they used to have more of a museum of the years of Coca~Cola and at the end of the tour, up on the top they had a HUGE cool fountain of all the different drinks made by Coca~Cola around the world.. well not any more! It was just all merchandise and a small little drink counter where you can get little samples of drinks... totally not the same.. oh well. So, off to the M & M store.. that was 4 (FOUR) floors of merchandise and then of course you can have your very own bag of m & m's by choosing from the rainbow of colors. Kayleigh picked the mini colorful ones, I got my magnet to add to my trip collection and then we were off to Gameworks.

Gameworks...was fun until the FEVERS SPIKED! It was so sad to see them have fun and then SAD... Cael fast asleep in the stroller and Kayleigh was burning up in my arms hanging on like a lil monkey to a tree for dear life. Poor lil munchkins! So we left, got meds in them QUICK.. blasted the air conditioner on them and soon.. they were feeling better sleeping on the way back to home sweet home. I made doctor's apt's for first thing in the am and it turned out.. Cael had an ear infection and a viral infection and Kayleigh had a viral infection AND a really, really bad UTI... poor girly had to get a shot in the buttocks : (. All is well now, but we are working on the girly to STOP HOLDING it... URG.. she is just TOO BUSY to stop from playing or whatever.. silly girl!

So, that was our quick trip, next time it may just be a weekend trip for mommy and daddy and the kiddos can do something fun with family. Nathan and I have yet to take a trip away from the kiddos..never had just one night away...weird. I wonder if I WILL be able to do it.. the kids may be fine.. not sure about me... he he.

So, here are the photos of our road trip, stopping first to check out the ol' dam.. Hoover Dam...and WOW how impressive is this new bridge...IMPRESSIVE and INTIMIDATING. Kayleigh was a bit overwhelmed.. liked to look at it but wanted to head back to the car.

Unfortunatly... what happened in Vegas.. did not stay in Vegas.. the kids got better and I got Bronchitis..but I am feeling much better now after a z-pac and rest. I hope we are done with the sickness in our house.. we have had enough!!

We hope for a more eventful and fun vacation with Wes, Logan and hope that Allysen and Jeannine can join them next time too! I am still itching to take a beach trip to San Diego.. maybe on another long weekend this year... I hope!
